Once Jesus lifts us into God’s presence, we are FREE TO OBEY out of love, not necessity, we are FREE TO OBEY THROUGH THE POWER OF GOD who NOW HELPS US. It’s no longer our power to be strong enough to keep ourselves on the ladder, it becomes the AWESOME power of God, enabling us, helping us, sustaining us, and strengthening us. We NO LONGER BATTLE SIN BY OUR POWER, but by the VERY POWER OF A POWERFUL GOD. We also now know that when we stumble, for stumble we will, we won’t fall back to the ground, instead we will be caught and held in Christ loving arms. God’s forgiveness does not make sin less serious; his son’s death for sin shows us the dreadful seriousness of sin. Jesus paid with his life so we can be forgiven. EVERY SIN WE COMMIT HE HAS FORGIVEN, PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE. However, the forgiveness and God’s mercy cannot be an excuse for careless living and moral laxity. (Colossians 3 v 3 –17 and Romans 6. God does not take us out of the world or makes us robots, we still FEEL like sinning and sometimes we STILL WILL. The difference is BEFORE we were saved we were SLAVES to our sinful nature, but now we can choose to live for Christ (Galatians 2 v 20) We can enjoy a new life in Christ because we are united with him in his death, and resurrection, our evil desires, our bondage to sin and our love of sin died with him. Now united by faith, we have unbroken fellowship with God and freedom from sin’s hold on us. The power and penalty of sin died with Christ on the cross, our old self and sinful nature died once and for all, so we are freed from it’s power. THAT WAS OUR SIN LOVING NATURE INHERITED FROM ADAM. Do we understand now whey we have to get from UNDER Adams sin loving nature to UNDER THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST Our old bodies allowed us to cooperate with our sinful nature, but no longer will that be because we now have Christ power living within us. Paul emphasized in Romans. ”Through faith in Christ, we stand acquitted, not guilty before God, we need NO LONGER live under sin’s power. Because of Christ death and resurrection, his children need NEVER to fear death. That assurance should free us to enjoy life and fellowship with him and to do his will. THIS WILL AFFECT EVERY ASPECT OF OUR LIVES : work, play, bible study, prayer and how we relate to others WHETHER WE LIKE THEM OR NOT. Loving each other (Agaphy love) praying for each other uplifting and encouraging and forgiving each other.
