Because of our union and identification with Jesus Christ, we no longer are obligated to carry out our old sinful desires and goals. It is impossible to be NEUTRAL. Every person has a MASTER, either God or Sin. A Christian is not someone who cannot sin, but someone who is no longer a SLAVE to sin. He or she belongs to GOD, he or she thinks now of “What does God have to say about this in his word, or what does God think of that?) God now REALLY MATTERS. No longer can I do what I think is right in my own eyes, but what God thinks is right. No longer do I lean on my understanding without consulting HIM in prayer. That’s what it means when Paul says we now have the mind of Christ that is because we depend on CHRIST VIEWS and not ours. We are free to choose between one of the two MASTERS, but we are not free to manipulate the consequences of our choice. Each Master plays with his own CURRENCY. The Currency of Sin is DEATH. That is all we can expect or hope for in a life without GOD. Christ CURRENCY IS ETERNAL LIFE. WHICH CHOICE WILL YOU MAKE? Eternal life is a free gift, it cannot be earned, Ephesians 2 v 8 & 9. He saves us because of his MERCY not because of any righteous thing we have done. Here is question Jesus himself was asked in John chapter 3 by a Jewish man named Nicodemus. Nicodemus was a member of the Jewish council and came to Jesus in the middle of the night. The bible says he asked Jesus “ Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God, for no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing, if God were not with him. In reply Jesus declared, “ I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is BORN AGAIN. To this statement Nicodemus was confused, he replied, “ How can a man be “born again” when he is old. Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born. To this Jesus replied, “ No one can enter the kingdom unless they be born of WATER and of the SPIRIT” THIS REBIRTH IS NOT A PHYSICAL BUT A SPIRITUAL BIRTH. (Now we can understand the importance of water baptism) Mark 16 v 16 “Who so ever believes and is baptized shall be saved” Acts 2 v 38 “Repent and be BAPTIZED” Here is a prayer for Salvation: Heavenly father I realize I was born with a sin nature, which keeps me from really being your child. I believe you sent Jesus your son to die for this reason so I accept the sacrifice he made on my behalf, dying for my sins. I believe you raised him from the dead and he now sits at your right hand interceding for me. I accept Jesus as my Savior and ask you to forgive me of my sins. I promise, to live for you Lord, from this day with your help. I will read your word and fellowship with other believers to know you more which, is what you ask me to do. Thank you Lord for allowing me to be born again into your spiritual family.
