THE LITERAL DROPS OF BLOOD THAT HE SHED ON THE CROSS COVERS OUR SINFULNESS. When a holy God looks at us he no longer sees us in our SINFUL DIRTY SELVES, he sees his SON’S BLOOD which now covers us and makes us righteous before him. THEN AND ONLY THEN CAN WE COMMUNE WITH GOD ALMIGHTY. THEN AND ONLY THEN ARE WE ACCEPTABLE TO HIM. 2nd Corinthians 5 v 21 “ God made HIM who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that in HIM we might become the righteousness of God.” We were all born into Adam’s physical family. The family line that leads to certain DEATH. ALL of us have reaped the result of Adam’s sin. We have inherited a SINFUL nature, the tendency to sin, and guilt, therefore God’s punishment. Because of JESUS however, we can TRADE judgment for FORGIVENESS. We can trade our SINS for Jesus’ RIGHTEOUSNESS. Remember 2nd Corinthians 5 v 21. Christ offers us the opportunity to be BORN into his “spiritual family”. The family line that begins with FORGIVENESS and leads to ETERNAL LIFE. If we do NOTHING i.e. sit there, do the best we can, try not to harm anyone, do nothing bad, live carefully, peacefully as much as we can, do as much right as is physically possible…THAT’S STILL NOT ENOUGH!!! Romans 3 v 20 says THERE IS NON RIGHTEOUS NO NOT ONE!!!!! Isaiah 64 v 6 “all our righteous acts are like filthy rags” That’s what the word of God says. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in HIS sight by observing the LAW; rather it’s through the LAW that we are conscious of SIN. Therefore our good intended acts of doing the best we can, or not hurting anyone, living as peaceful as possible and trying not to do anything wrong, is trying hard to KEEP THE LAW, yet as much as we are trying, how successful are we? For example just take one requirement of the LAW…the law says “LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF” You love yourself very much, you bought yourself a new dress, when did you last buy a new dress for the lady down the street? or mow the lawn for the man next door? they are both your neighbor. Can I REALLY LOVE MY NEIGHBOR AS MYSELF? LITERALLY THAT’S WHAT THE LAW REQUIRES. IF I DON’T THEN I HAVE ALREADY BROKEN ONE OF THE LAWS. The bible says If I have broken just ONE I have broken them all. As much as we try to keep the Law it’s IMPOSSIBLE. How successful are we in TRYING and how successful are we in doing the “Best” we can. Our best falls far below a holy God’s standard. So he says it literally impossible for us to be righteous. So if we do nothing, we have DEATH through Adam, but if we come to God by FAITH, WE HAVE LIFE THROUGH CHRIST. Romans 8 v 3 “ For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering.
