The Great Tribulation: A time of terrible persecution, blood bath

Angel preaching Rev 14 v 6 & 7 God is so merciful he wants non to perish. Even during this time God has allowed angels to go throughout the earth preaching the gospel.

In Revelation 14, John magnifies things, he wants us to see there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. Although he has just finished describing some of the most terrible happenings on earth, he wants us to see the SOVEREIGN protection of God’s people Rev 14 v 1.

Let’s show proof that God chose Jerusalem as his holy chosen city!

Psalm 87 v 2 “The Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob”

Psalm 132 v 13 “ For the Lord has chosen Zion, he has desired it for his dwelling”

Psalm 2 v 6 “I have installed my King on Zion my holy hill”

Isaiah 24 v 23 “For the Lord God will reign on mount Zion and in Jerusalem”.

Zechariah 8 v 3 “I am very jealous of Zion, I am burning with jealousy for her.”

Joel 3 v 17 “Then you will know that I the Lord your God dwell in Zion, my holy hill. Jerusalem will be holy; never again will foreigners invade her”.

Rev 7 v 3-4 God will seal 144,000 Jewish men, and save them in and out of the Tribulation. It is a seal that they belong to God. This is the same for a child of God – once you accept Jesus Christ into your life, you are SEALED as His. Ephesians 1 v 13 “and you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a SEAL, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession. God has put his NATURE into the believers heart and SEALED you.

These sealed people in Rev 14 are the same who were sealed in Rev 7 v 3 & 4. Rev 14 v 2 & 3 These are the 144,000 singing a new song, a song that has never been heard before.

WHAT WAS PECULIAR ABOUT THESE 144,000:

1. They had God’s PROTECTION

2. They had Spiritual PURITY (although they were described as virgin males, this could also signify spiritual PURITY, meaning they had not defiled themselves, they had stayed pure in the WORD of God, they had not followed the leading of the Antichrist, they had not fallen into IDOLATRY, while others were following his agenda, they had remained SEPARATE. In essence they are saying something like this “we are not going to defile ourselves and worship anyone other than Jehovah God of the bible.” They had chosen to be spiritually PURE and God had SEALED them. See Rev 14 v 4 They had followed the Lord. They were redeemed Verse 5 “in their mouth was found no. DECIEPT. Their lives were TRUE. They REALLY were waiting for their MESSIAH.

These are people who had just gone through the worse time so far on earth, they have preached the gospel, they have endured and now they are in heaven singing. They had made it to the light at the end of the tunnel.

THE WEDDING FEAST

REVELATION 19 VERSES 1, 2, 4, 6

These 4 message marked the wedding song. They are praising the Lord! WHY? They are praising God because of his SAVING WORKS! The moment we get into heaven we will be PRAISING God for what he has done for us.

Rev 7 v 9 This is a vast number of people saved throughout the ages that are singing praises to God because they are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. THERE IS ONE THING A CHRISTIAN SHOULD NEVER GET OVER, THEY SHOULD NEVER GET OVER THEIR SALVATION. The fact that you have given your heart to JESUS CHRIST.

Look at these people in heaven….

We have been saved for the GLORY of God.

We have been saved to the HONOR of God;

We have been saved by the POWER of God.

Salvation refers to the GRACE of God, “for by Grace you have been SAVED through FAITH”.

Salvation is for the GLORY of God, for whatever you do, whether you eat or drink, you do it to the GLORY of God.

Salvation is for the GOODNESS of God, HONOR means Goodness, God is good.

This in it’s entirety shows the GREATNESS of God.
