CHAPTER 4-5

In viewing this chapter once should be saying “OH Lord HELP ME TO LAY AT LEAST ONE CROWN AT YOUR FEET, BECAUSE I WAS FAITHFUL IN SERVING YOU”

At the beginning of this chapter John is caught up in the spirit to heaven ------This catching up of John (chapter 4 v 1 & 2)---PARALLELS THE CHURCH (or is a foreshadowing of the church) PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE CHURCH IS NOT MENTIONED AFTER THIS EXPERIENCE UNTIL AGAIN WHEN IT IS MENTIONED RETURNING WITH CHRIST to the battle of Armageddon see Chapter 19 v 14.

“come up hither and I will show you what must take place after this…AFTER WHAT…AFTER THE RAPTURE, BECAUSE THE RAPTURE IS HIS COMING UP HITHER. IMMEDIATELY JOHN WAS IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD…JUST LIKE THE CHURCH IN THE TWINKLE OF AN EYE WILL BE IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD, STANDING IN FRONT OF THE THRONE IN HEAVEN. John had no foreknowledge of this about to happen to him IT WAS SUDDENLY. Just like the church will be suddenly.

Chapter 4 v 4…These 24 ELDERS represents ALL OF GOD’S PEOPLE- OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT SAINTS. THE 12 PATRIOTS the OLD TESTAMENT (12 TRIBES OF ISRAEL) and 12 PATRIOTS (APOSTLES representing the

CHURCH) of the New TESTAMENT. We are going to see them laying crowns at JESUS’ feet.

THEN WE SEE 4 LIVING CREATURES in the center around the throne chapter 4 v 6 . PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THE BIBLE MUST ALWAYS BE TAKEN LITERALLY UNLESS GOD’S WORD SAYS SO. Unless God’s word indicates it is FIGURATIVE. These verses are SYMBOLIC….like a man…..like a lion, THESE “LIKE A” EXPRESS SYMBOLISM.

Verse 8 THESE ARE LITERALLY CREATED BEINGS!!! Isaiah 6 v 1-3. We see that these are undoubtedly SERAPHS, …angels of God, created to praise and adore God.

IN GREEK THE TERM “BEING” IS ZOON MEANING a living creature. HOWEVER WHILE THEY ARE LIVING BEINGS…THE PORTRAITS OF THEM BEARING SIX WINGS AND NUMBERLESS EYES IS A FIGURATIVE EXPRESSION. Representing STRENGTH AND KNOWLEDGE thus they have eyes before and behind…TO SEE ALL THINGS CLEARLY AND ACCURATELY.

Within each SPECIE of the animal kingdom there is always a LEADER.

1. THE LION is the leader among the wild beast.

2. THE OX is the leader among the domestic animals

3. THE EAGLE is the leader among the birds

4. MAN the leader of all the creatures.

THIS IS THE PICTURE SET BEFORE US: THE WHOLE CREATION OF GOD PRAISING AND ADORING GOD. “ Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come.”

THE ADORATION OF HOLINESS IS FOR THE FATHER, THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT…because the TRINITY works UNITED.

When the 4 beasts give adoration to God, the 24 ELDERS cast their crowns before JESUS. Notice that both the angels and the elders are praising God for CREATING THEM see v 11. CHAPTER 5 continue the heavenly scene so they are really together. Chapter 5 shows God on the throne with a scroll in his hand having sealed all tears from our eyes.

Jesus is the LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH, the root of David. Since JUDAH IS THE LEADING TRIBE OF ISRAEL, and the lion is the king of the beast, CHRIST IS PICTURED WHEN HE COMES AS ISRAEL’S KING.

Chapter 19 v 16. It’s at this moment that the Lord God gives to him the throne of his father DAVID ( LUKE 1 v 32) with 7 seals.

see chapter 5 v 3-5. An ANGEL is shouting “Who is worthy to break the seal and open the scroll” but no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth… John is weeping because the SCROLL represents THE TITLE DEED TO THE EARTH. As long as it remains SEALED, SATAN would still have his grasp on the planet…BUT SEE HERE “the lion of the Tribe of Judah has TRIUMPHED …he is saying that CHRIST (has triumphed ) because of his DEATH AND RESURRECTION, He HAS TRIUMPHED OVER SATAN. John tears are dried, similarly for us all tears are dried up in heaven. He will dry our tears.

LET’S PROVE THAT IT IS OUR SAVIOR THAT JOHN SEES

VERSE 6 As mentioned before the seven sealed scroll is the Title Deed to the earth and it’s subject is REDEMPTION. JOHN 1 verse 29 Jesus is the only

one worthy as he redeemed us. OUR REDEMPTION IS THROUGH JESUS CHRIST (1^st Cor 15 v3. “Christ died for “OUR SINS” JOHN WHO RECORDED THE FACT THAT JESUS WAS THE LAMB OF GOD, WHEN HE WALKED ON THE EARTH is now saying that “No One Can Overcome But BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB (John 12 v 11).

NOW we have to ask ourselves a question? Have YOU met the Jesus for his CLEANSING POWER, Are YOU washed in the BLOOD OF THE LAMB. There is NO OTHER WAY, (Hebrews 9 V 22) without the shedding of blood there is no redemption of sin. THIS LAMB is worthy because of the SACRIFICE he made for your SINS AND MINE.

REMEMBER( 7) PICTURES COMPLETENESS/PERFECTION

THE LAMB’S 7 HORNS PICTURE---STRENGTH---Jesus said ALL authority is given on to me in heaven and on the earth. Matthew 28 v 18.

THE LAMB’S 7 EYES PICTURE ALL SEEING--- Hebrews 4 v 13 Jesus sees everything----everything each one of us does.

Since 7 means perfection- no mistakes will be made at the measuring out of his judgments, because the 7 spirits of GOD (a picture of the HOLY SPIRIT in all of his fullness rest upon CHRIST without measure. NOT ONE MISTAKE WILL BE MADE IN THE TRIBULATION.

Adding up His attributes we see here

A. 7 HORNS- AUTHORITY, POWER AND STRENGTH

B. HIS all seeing VISION (7 EYES) along with his filing of the SPIRIT OF GOD in a 7 fold way. (Isaiah 11 verse 1 & 2) not one mistake will be made because THE ONE FOUND WORTHY will act.
