Romans 9 v 4 – the 7th proof concerning the patriarchs. These seven bible statements proves that God is talking about the Jewish people. Romans 11 v 1 St Paul demolishes replacement theology in one verse. “ I say then has God cast away his people? The Jewish people. God forbid! Romans 11 v 11 “ I say then have the Jewish people stumbled so that they should fall, God forbid. Paul puts it two times. Has God cast away Israel for the Church. GOD FORBID!!! THE ANSWER IS NO! Romans 11 v 3 – Elijah is having a “Pitty Party” but God showed him that there is always a remnant left. Romans 11 v 5 Post Calvary time. There is a remnant, a small surviving part according to the election of Grace. The spiritual seed of Israel’s future. God is not talking about Gentiles he is talking about the Jewish people. Romans 11v 7 Paul teaches that God blinded the eyes of the Jewish people so that the Gentiles could be saved. Verse 25 “for I would not brethren that you should be ignorant of this mystery lest you should be wise in your own conceit , that blindness in part is happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentile be come in.” This means that God has blinded the Jewish people until the Gentiles have come in. The Jewish people had the word of God before the rest of the world. That does not mean that God prefers the Jews over the Gentiles, because the bible says God is no respecter of person. Why were the Jewish people blinded by God? Paul answers in Romans 11 v 11 “ have they stumbled that they should fall, God forbid, but through their fall, salvation is come unto the Gentile.” God blinded them so that the GENTILES would have a day of salvation. Romans 11 v 16 says if the first fruits are holy then the whole batch is holy, if the root is holy so are the branches. Who is this root?…Abrahams. Verse 28 “ they the Jews are loved for the fathers sake…Plural .who are these fathers?.. they are Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Romans 11 v 17, that means if some of the Jews are broken off and disciplined, some are still on the tree. How? By divine election. Romans 11 v 18 Paul addresses the proper attitude of the Christians toward the Jewish people, he says “don’t boast against the branches”, don’t boast against the Jewish people who have been cut off and disciplined. If you boast remember that you the Gentile do not support the root, but the root…Abraham Isaac and Jacob supports you. God is saying remember Gentiles your roots are JEWISH. Romans 11 v 26 “ and so all Israel will be saved, that means the nation will be saved.” But when will that happen Zach. 12 v10. Why would God be gracious to the Jewish people…Well why would God be gracious to You!! The story of Joseph holds the key: the New Testament is the old Testament revealed. The Hebrew root word for Joseph and Jesus are the same. Both were the favorite sons of their father. Joseph was sent to his brothers with Bread; Jesus Christ was the Bread of life. Joseph’s brothers rejected him; Jesus came to his own and his own rejected him. Joseph wore a coat of many colors; Jesus wore a seamless robe so valuable that the soldiers gambled for it at Calvary. Joseph was sold into by his brothers into slavery; Jesus was sold by Judas for thirty pieces of silver. Joseph was falsely accused; Jesus was falsely accused called a liar, a heretic and a drunkard. Joseph was sent to prison and he came out of prison the most powerful man on earth standing next to Pharaoh.; Jesus went to the prison of death and he ascended into heaven and he stands at the right hand of God Almighty, and he has all power in heaven and on earth. Now this is how this comes together. Joseph’s brothers came into the land of Egypt three times, the first time they came seeking food, they did not recognize Joseph their flesh and blood whom they had betrayed. He was dressed as an Egyptian, he was speaking Egyptian. He had a Gentile bride which is a type of the church, and they had children which is a type of you and me. Then they came the second time into the land of Egypt and they did not know him. But on the third time Joseph could no longer constrain himself and he threw his arms around his brothers and he said I am Joseph your brother, we are family, I’m the one you betrayed. You are bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh and they wept together bitterly. What does this mean? The nation of Israel went into the promise land the first time with Abraham, they entered the land the second time with Joshua, they were expelled from the land in 70AD by the Romans, they entered the land for the third time in May of 1948. A nation was born in a day according to Isaiah 66 v 8. Upon their third trip into the land, Jesus their flesh and blood, Jesus their Messiah, Jesus hidden from them by the blindness, they will recognize. He is going to put his arms around them and say “were family, I’m your brother, I’m of the house of David, I’m the root of the house of Jesse, and they are going to weep for seven days just as Joseph and his family wept, united forever. It is a sin to be prejudiced against the Jewish people. God said “I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you”
