What is the purpose of our lives? Why did GOD make us? There are three persons in GOD, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, man was made in the image of GOD, body, soul and spirit. No spirit that GOD has made in His own image can cease to exist. This is because GOD cannot cease to exist. Therefore we must exist someplace, either with GOD or separated from GOD, but we never cease to exist. Genesis 2 v 7; “the lord GOD formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into His nostrils the breath of life”! He never did that to any of His other creations, not to the animals, not to the birds, not to the trees, not to the ocean or the stars in the heavens,….only man! God’s intention for us His creation, i.e. (the reason why he made us) was to fellowship with Him and worship him eternally. Because sin put a wedge or a gap between GOD and His creation, His creation no longer had any purpose because sin broke the ability to fellowship. Without This fellowship, the purpose that he created us for, was lost!!! Here’s the problem: But God’s creation was made in His own image, see genesis 2 v 27. “So GOD created man in His own image, his creation cannot cease to exist because he breath His own self into us! And GOD cannot cease to exist! To remove the wedge ( which is stopping fellowship with Him) (the wedge being sin) and to reconcile himself to us, GOD himself had to pay for sin - for us! (the price for sin is death) Romans 6 v 23 “ for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of GOD is eternal life through Christ Jesus our lord) So GOD sent himself……..the part of himself which is the GOD/man who is Jesus Christ…GOD in human form. (Remember GOD is a three person being. GOD the father, GOD the son, (Jesus Christ) and GOD the Holy Spirit. The human form of GOD which is Jesus Christ, took the place of mankind for the purpose of dying for the sins of mankind ( remember sin’s price is death) 1st peter 3 v 18 “for Christ died for sins once and for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to GOD.” So that man’s body, soul and spirit would not loose its purpose. What purpose? The purpose for which you were created, that is to fellowship with GOD our Creator. Jesus Christ died on the cross for that purpose!!!! GOD loves us so much that he provided a rescue situation for us to still exist in fellowship with Him.
