BIBLICAL IDENTIFICATION OF THE ANTICHRIST

The apostle Paul refers to him in 2^nd Thes. 2 v 3 as the “man of sin and the son of Perdition. The word Perdition means destruction. Then in 2^nd Thes 2 v 8 he is referred to as the lawless one or wicked one. In 1^st John 2 v 18 he is simply identified as the Antichrist.

1. He is a Diplomat

A man who heads an organization Daniel 9 v 24. He is a diplomat of the first order. He is well versed in government. He rises among the powers of Europe to the great position of leader, he would therefore have to be a diplomat of the very highest order.

2. He is a World Class Economist

He leads and brings Europe into a very important position. Europe becomes a very prosperous entity prior to the Tribulation

3. Military Strategist

Chapter 11 of the book of Daniel shows the Antichrist is a capable military strategist. Daniel 8 v 24 declares “he will destroy wonderfully”.

We do not know from biblical records what his exact nationality is going to be.

HIS CHARACTER AND PERSONALITY

If we look in Daniel 7 v 8 we begin to discover the character and personality of this man.

He is a Visionary

“ I considered the horns and behold there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and behold in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

“ And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell, even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spoke very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows. Daniel 7 v 20. Note that attention is drawn to his eyes. From this we realize he is a visionary and a spiritualist seer. From these reference we see he is and ungodly visionary, Satanically motivated to envision becoming king of the world.

He is a Great Orator.

Daniel 7 v 11 “I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spoke: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame”

Daniel 7 v 25 “and he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws:

These are references to the speakers pompous words. Rev 12 v 25 gives us another picture of his attempt to sway people his way with his flood of words.

He could be pictured as a great Orator able to hold an audience spellbound with his great ability to speak.

He is a Persecutor

In Daniel chapter 7 we discover he is a Persecutor. “ I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them: and he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws, and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of times.” Chapter 7 v 21, 25.

The times and half of time identifies the last three and a half years of the Tribulation. We understand that he will wage a war against the believers, those who accepted Christ during this time and he will overcome some of them during the latter half of the tribulation.

He understands the LAW

2^nd Thes 2 v 8-9 This verse refers to the Antichrist at the “lawless one” He is going to be well versed in the law of his day, and will attempt to change the laws.

He is a good looker- meaning he is Handsome

Daniel 8 v 23 tells us he has fierce features, as well as very strong, powerful countenance. He will not be able to be stared down.

He is a Spiritualist /Medium

In the last part of Daniel 8 v 23 it states ‘ He understands sinister schemes. He is obviously involved in the Occult. He not only understand the sinister schemes, but the language of the dark side of the Spirit World. Remember the Apostle Paul teaches that he is going to be working signs and wonders, Paul states they are false not real. 2^nd Thes 2 v 9. referring to them as lying signs and wonders.”

He is Powerful with Great Ability

“ and his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; and he shall destroy wonderfully and shall prosper and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people” Daniel 8 v 24

He is a very powerful man, physically. He is a powerful leader. Notice v 24 says “ mighty …but not by his own power”. Rev 13 v 2, 4 identifies the source of his power.

He is Deceitful

Daniel 8 v 25 The antichrist will be extremely deceitful. Jesus and he apostle Paul warns us to take heed that we are not deceived by any means. Through his cunning and deceit, his rule will prosper for a time. Rev 6 v 8 however provides the area of his influence. He will have seven years in which to try and succeed at Satan’s plan. 2^nd Thes 2 v 9-10. The apostle Paul provides insight into the Antichrist as does the Books of Daniel and Revelation.

He uses Flattery

Daniel 11 v 34 “ Now when they shall fall, they shall be aided with a little help; but many shall cleave to them with flatteries” Here we discover that not only is he cunning, deceitful, but he uses flattery.

Regards Not the GOD Of His Fathers

Daniel 11 v 37 This verse suggest that he is from a religious background or a godly background. His family seems to be from people who knew God or had some form of religious beliefs.

He is a Homosexual

Daniel 11 v 37 He has no desire for women. The Antichrist seems to be a homosexual man. Rev 11 v 8 and with additional insight from chapter 23 and 2^nd Thes 2 v 4 makes it clear that the Antichrist moves his headquarters out of Europe to Jerusalem at the middle of the Tribulation. Once he moves his headquarters and all of his companions into Jerusalem, Jerusalem becomes knows as Sodom, This is stated in Rev 11 v 8. This verse confirms Daniel 11 v 37 that he is homosexual. Another reference is found in Daniel 7 v 20, here it speaks of his fellows, those who surround and support him and work with him.

“and of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell, even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spoke very great thing, whose look was more stout than his FELLOWS”. When the word Fellows is researched as it is used in Daniel 7 v 20, in the Hebrew, one discovers that it is the feminine use of the word. We therefore have three scriptures which clearly identifies the Antichrist as being homosexual.
